Heathfield Runners compete in the East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League. The league comprises usually 6 races of about 5 miles running from October to March, when it's nice and muddy!

We actively encourage our members to take part (although contrary to popular belief, it's not compulsory). Cross-country is great training and racing and is also very nearly the most fun you can have in a field in the middle of winter.

Full details, including race schedule, results and photos can be found on the league's website.

Aside from these leagues, our members race all over the country and also overseas.

You can find a comprehensive calendar for all types of races in Sussex on Sussex Races website.

Park Run

Parkrun is a phenomenon, which is proving to be increasingly popular with members of the club on a Saturday morning.

Free-to-enter, weekly, timed 5km runs, held at a variety of locations in East Sussex and, of course, across the country and overseas.

Members try to car-share where possible and with no parkrun in Heathfield, if you join in you'll get to experience parkrun tourism at its finest.

Sussex Grand Prix

We compete in the Sussex Grand Prix — a series of races held throughout the county all year round.

The series currently comprises around a dozen races varying in distance between 5k and 20 miles. Runners accumulate points at each race and their best six races are scored in both individual and team leagues. The ethos of the Sussex Grand Prix is competitive running for all standards and there is a comprehensive prize structure to reflect this.
