5 go running…..
9th February 2014.
Heathfield Road Runner club runners made their way along the south coast to line up for the Chichester 10k, the first of this seasons’ SGP races. Despite recent heavy downpours and high winds and a chilly start, the weather held out & the sun actually broke through on occasion, making it almost perfect running conditions.
Sarah Roff, had a great race placing 8th lady (37:06), followed by Roy Varley (55:57) & Louise Cottham (55:58). Gill Boorman put in a fantastic performance and is back on sub 60 form (59:36) Fiona Banfield, running her second only ever 10k since joining the club, managed to knock off 7 minutes off her PB! (1:02:33). Michelle Spates is still chasing her elusive sub 60 10k, but had the usual grin on her face the whole way round (1:02:59)!
The runners enjoyed a roast dinner at the George & Dragon round the corner from the finish line afterwards to celebrate a great start to the Grand Prix season.
