Runners of all abilities are being urged to get their running shoes on in preparation for this year’s Heathfield Midsummer 10K, taking place Sunday 26th June at 10am.
All finishers of the race will receive a generous goody bag of healthy treats from Higher Nature of Burwash. Gift vouchers will also be awarded for 15 different category winners from Tempo running store in Eastbourne.
Each year, the Heathfield Midsummer 10K welcomes a field of around 300 runners from the town and across south east. Race Director Rosie Manning comments: “This is a really friendly and challenging event for runners of all abilities who fancy getting their running shoes on and supporting their local club. We receive entries from runners from across the county, but we particularly welcome everyone from Heathfield and the surrounding area to come and give their local race a go.”
“We are also supporting Heathfield charity Cuckoo for Cancer again this year with a proportion of the money we raise as they kindly offer us help with marshalling. They do a fantastic job in making sure people keep to the course and support everyone on the hills!”
The course takes runners from the Heathfield & Waldron Rugby Club through the scenic lanes around Cross In Hand and Waldron, completing the circuit back at the Rugby Club again where all runners who finish will receive a medal. Refreshments will be available during and after the event, including plenty of home-made cakes.
Entry fees are £10 for affiliated members or £12 for unaffiliated members and can be purchased online by visiting www.heathfieldroadrunners.com. More information and further updates on the race can also be found by following the Facebook page www.facebook.com/heathfieldmidsummer10k.
