Heathfield Road Runners were amongst 38,000 competitors who took part in the London Marathon this year on 26 April.
This year was estimated to be the biggest so far in the Marathon’s 35 year history.
The five Heathfield runners were amongst elite athletes and charity runners alike, as well as a couple who tied the knot along the 26.2 mile (42km) route, wheelchair athletes, celebrities and not forgetting Paula Radcliffe in what is reported to be her last ever marathon.
Near-perfect weather conditions added to the atmosphere to deliver some excellent times for Heathfield, which include:
Rowan Baker – 3.25.46
David Woollard – 3.26.06
Roy Cooper – 3.48.31
Paulette Smith – 4.05.25
Christina Baker – 4.40.43
A special mention to David Woollard and Roy Cooper who, not being satisfied with taking part in one marathon in April, also took part in the Brighton Marathon just two weeks before on 12 April.

David was also lucky to bump into Paula Radcliffe when he collected his number!
