The Weald Challenge Trail Races follow the long distance paths of the Wealdway and the Vanguard Way, starting and finishing in the village of Chiddingly. Each race takes in the rolling landscape of the Sussex Weald crossing fields, woodland and a number of country lanes.
Runners in this competition are faced with a choice between a half marathon, full marathon or ‘ultra’ (50km) distance race.
Three runners from Heathfield Road Runners took part in the 2015 event.
For the half marathon distance Mike Churchyard completed the 13.1 mile course in 2.41.32.
There were two ultra competitors from Heathfield daring enough to take on the full 50k run, with Kim Foo just breaking the five hour barrier with a stunning time of 4.59.11 and William Pugh-Jones completing the challenge in 7.07.31.
